Dec. 2003Central New YorkDuring my tenure as an American Sign Language Interpreter I facilitated communication between individual to mitigate barriers to understanding and maximize accessibility to information. Drawing on over 30 years of fluency using American Sign Language, my education at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology and my practical application at La Escuela Evangelica para Sordos in Luquillo, Puerto Rico, I provided linguistic services in a variety of settings including the Department of Defense, NASA and various institutes of higher education. I specialized in the disciplines of viticulture and enology, chemistry, physics, English, linguistics, modern and Greek history as well as working with individuals with minimal language competency. To date, my most memorable work was in 2018 when I interpreted for the following artists and performances: Pentatonix, Rumors of Fleetwood Mac, Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Les Miserables, and Finding Neverland.
