Aug. 2006 - Feb. 2007The Dragon Hotel is a privately owned, high-end, boutique 4 Star hotel in the centre of Swansea. It has 109 bedrooms and a Michelin starred Restaurant. I held a full time role here as receptionist . This was a very busy role which had a lot of responsibility in this setting, working on a small team of staff to run the reception desk, greet guests, deal with complaints and answer the telephone. Be the first point of contact for all guests both face to face and over the phone / email / fax.
Organise the room, restaurant, taxi and excursion reservations for individuals and groups.
Manage the bookings for groups and large parties, quote for the package prices and negotiate the best prices.
Building relationships with corporate business who use the hotel on a regular basis to ensure they continually used it.
Administering large events such as conferences, training courses and seminars and being ‘on-call’ for delegates and event managers.
Maintaining the leads and sales contacts
Meet my monthly targets for room sales and average prices.
Responsible for the cash (safe key holder) and cashing up and banking at the beginning / end of each shift.
Covering responsibilities of absent staff where necessary.
Compliance to fire regulations and procedures at all times.
