MBNASenior Applications Programmer / Analyst
Jan. 2013 - May. 2025ChesterManaging the day to day running of the Automation engine within MBNA. This application is responsible for processing thousands of transactions daily on accounts. Written in C# with a SQL Server database, we employed ASP.Net MVC under IIS for the administration screens, and the main processing engines ran as windows services. The application communicated with other third party internal and external services using initially WCF and latterly RESTful https calls. We deployed using Continuous Integration methods via TFS and custom MS build scripts
I am a key member of a team working at a senior level managing contractors and permanent employees who are responsible for the Third line support of the application. Using Agile methodologies, we continued to research and develop new processes. Strong business knowledge of Credit Card operations and modern technologies were utilized to support this application. • Recently the core platform was migrated to Lloyds systems. I was heavily involved in planning the migrations and overseeing the transition. I was required to create tools and reports to help with this process to verify data was not lost. • With my extensive and comprehensive knowledge of many processes within the bank and my keen drive to learn I was promoted quickly within the team to support and own the Automation Engine for the bank. • Strong motivation to always learn new skills and research new technologies. Recently completed a Scrum Master Qualification course to focus on Agile methodologies.
