Feb. 2012 - Jan. 2015Page, ArizonaHome Care of Northern Arizona served the greater Page, AZ area as well as the western side of the Navajo Reservation. As a provider for ALTCS (Arizona Long Term Care Service) I was able to get family members paid for taking care of their family members. These caregiver were tirelessly working without any compensation and sometimes giving up their main employment to care for elders in their family. By helping them through the application process with ALTCS they were compensated for one of the most difficult jobs in the world!
Marketing Director
Zion's Way Home Health & HospiceMarketing Director
Jun. 2010 - Aug. 2013Page, ArizonaMarketed to the Navajo Reservation community health services e.g. hospitals, community centers, chapter houses and senior centers. Worked with both traditional and non-traditional cultures. Bringing hospice to a traditional culture is challenging but I found I was welcomed with open arms from the warm and loving Navajo people. It was an amazing experience.
Director of Housing and Asset Development
Tacoma Housing AuthorityDirector of Housing and Asset Development
Sep. 2007 - Oct. 2009Tacoma, WAAs Director of Housing and Asset development I helped current S8 voucher holders save for down payments on new homes by applying matching grants to their current savings. S8 voucher holders are entitled to enter the S8y program which helps pay for mortgage payments for an undetermined amount of time to allow the S8y voucher holder to own their home instead of renting. I also managed the grant program for the IDA (Individual Development Account) participants. The IDA program matched funds up to $2,000 for things such as secondary education, vehicles, computers, and housing down payments. I was fortunate enough to be part of this program and helped clients gain independence from Public Housing as well as advancing their education or getting a job further from where they could because of acquiring a vehicle. I was an enlightening experience.
