Spent 1.5 years assisting a pathologist with the research of Respiratory Syncytial Virus using lambs as models. During lamb trials, I assisted with daily tasks such as taking rectal temps, heart and respiratory rates, giving shots, infecting lambs and necropsy/collection of lung tissue. Lab work experience included running quantitative polymerase chain reactions (qPCR) plates for RSV from lung tissue. Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine (VDPAM):
Worked 1 year for two veterinarians with swine and beef specializations. Jobs included working extensively in Excel, literature reviews, collecting blood/rectal temps/heart and respiratory rates of calves, scoring videos on animal welfare projects, and assisted various veterinary students on individual research projects.
