Southern Exposure SFLead Teacher YAB, The Cries of SF
Jan. 2011 - May. 2011San Francisco Bay AreaWorked in collaboration with a Teaching Assistant, Artist Intern and Program Manager to develop curriculum for youth with learning disabilities between 14 and 21 years old. The curriculum explored Identity, Performance, Art in Public Places and Costume Design to create peddler characters and cries, as well as items to hawk. The class was part of “The Cries of San Francisco” collaborative project with artist Allison Smith and 50 additional artists. It consisted on a temporary public art project held at Mint Plaza, SF, exhibitions, and a publication that was inspired by early San Francisco street merchants with their melodic songs and calls.
