House 337Creative
May. 2022 - May. 2025London, England, United KingdomPrisons, banking, high street fashion, gaming, nature, the military, butter, buying cars, selling cars, insuring cars, energy, wildlife and women's safety *gasps for air* kept me scratching my head, scribbling away and trying to 'Make Better' at House (which was Engine when I joined — and WCRS before that). I also did my best to make agency life and culture better by leading all social events; launching and running an internal feedback system called Open Door; and being an active member of the Shadow Board, Wellbeing and EDI teams. I'm very pleased to say that many of my wonderful colleagues credited me as the embodiment of agency culture. Clients: Anchor, Cazoo, E.ON, Green Flag, J D Williams, M&S, Ministry of Justice, Royal Navy, RAF, Santander, Simply Be, Sky Broadband, Sky Mobile, Sky Guild, Sweaty Betty, Wildlife Aid, Women's Aid. Highlight(s): Making women feel better about their bodies with a... fashion campaign?! And being crowned 'Chief Fun Officer' of the agency.

Midweight Copywriter
NSPCCMidweight Copywriter
Sep. 2020 - May. 2021London, England, United KingdomFighting (read: writing) for every childhood and guarding the NSPCC brand like it was my child. I wrote all sorts of stuff during my time at the NSPCC, but these are a few bits which really fought for children: My writing secured £1 million of funding for our fight this year (which should also mean the same again for years to come). AND raised £85k, against a target of £21k, on a recent piece of DM. F***, yeah! Here’s what one supporter had to say about the DM: “As an NSPCC supporter, I received this in the post yesterday and I just wanted to say how much I love it! Well done to the team who made it. I think it's the best piece of NSPCC supporter material I've received!” The team described it as: “The best loyalty campaign they’ve run in years."

School of Communication Arts 2.0Creative
Sep. 2017 - Jul. 2018BrixtonAfter an unsuccessful phone interview the previous year, I managed to convince Marc to let me come in to the school to interview for real in June 2017. I used my 4 minute presentation to teach the then current intake the basics of hiphop in 3 minutes and had them 'perform' to my re-rapped version of a Run DMC track. Marc told me a got a place because everyone could tell I was very honest. But I'm pretty sure it was my lucky holographic jeans. I went to SCA, met my first partner, and we built a book which won us a couple of D&AD pencils and TTB Cream.
Copywriter
Blu DigitalCopywriter
Nov. 2016 - Jan. 2017On the side of temping, I did some researching/writing for Blu Digital's blog on digital, marketing and advertising news.
Project Management Assistant
Guardian LabsProject Management Assistant
Jul. 2016 - Sep. 2017LondonAt the Guardian, I was a Data Analyst come Project Manager. I reported on all their paid for content campaigns and managed a few, too. My main aim there was to save the Guardian a chunk of money by doing myself out of a job. By the time I left, the Guardian's campaign reporting was well on its way to being fully automated. And definitely in a much better place than I'd found it. And now, finally, I was going to become a PROPER ad creative.
Lead Generator
Sectorlight Marketing & DesignLead Generator
Jul. 2016 - Jul. 2016While I was trying to figure out how the heck I could actually become a Copywriter / Creative, I did some temp' work, starting at Sectorlight.
Account Executive
KHWSAccount Executive
Mar. 2015 - May. 2016London, United KingdomAt KHWS, I did a pretty good job of managing a bunch of B2B and B2C projects (mainly for Samsung), but I spent most of my time there feeling like I'd be doing a much better job if I was in the studio. I managed to wangle a few copy briefs while I was there and got a few bits out on the agency blog/in client projects, but I wanted to do more so I ventured on to pastures new.
Account Executive
WPPAccount Executive
Dec. 2014 - Mar. 2015PaddingtonAt Team Red, I got my first taste of creative strategy working with the CSO on Vodafone's new brand character. I also worked on a mammoth digital library which collected every piece of global creative made for Vodafone by WPP agencies, got the agency Twitter a load more followers and helped them streamline their briefing process. But the brand character definitely felt like the best bit to me.
Runner / Graduate
WPPRunner / Graduate
Sep. 2014 - Mar. 2015London, United KingdomMy first experience of adland was through a grad' scheme, of sorts, in WPP. I did just about everything from serving food to sorting post, arranging meetings and answering the phones. A few months in, after impressing them during a temporary contract, I was chosen by Team Red (then the global head office for all WPP agencies working on Vodafone) to become an Account Exec'.
Lead Generator
Blueberry Marketing SolutionsLead Generator
Jan. 2013 - Sep. 2013Leeds, United KingdomWhile I was at uni, I needed/wanted some extra cash, so I went in search of part time work. I applied for what felt like a gazillion jobs, answered all sorts of highly (ir)relevant questions about why it has always been my dream to stack shelves and/or scrub tables for £4 p/h and spent about 10 times that on travel/parking for interviews... and I got nadda! Until the crew at Blueberry gave me a shot. Nothing like a few months of call centre work to keep you humble and get you thinking about how to communicate to people when they don't want to listen.
Events & Media Assistant
Freud Museum LondonEvents & Media Assistant
Jun. 2011 - Sep. 2014Freud Museum London, HampsteadI also did some on and off PR and events assistance with the lovely people at Freud during the breaks between uni terms. I found this a lot easier and more satisfying than trying to get through Freud's writing at uni!
Work Experience
Rainmaker Healthcare Communications, London & AtlantaWork Experience
Jul. 2008 - Jul. 2008LondonRainmaker is where I discovered the world of advertising. They got me proof reading, researching, brainstorming for campaigns (some of my ideas were taken forward for a design campaign). One week with them (and an encouraging chat with the CD there) made me realise what I wanted to do when I grew up — join adland!
