Harvard-Westlake SchoolYearbook Adviser
Jul. 2020Los Angeles, California, United StatesAs the founding director of HW Media, I lead a converged student media program that prepares 7th–12th graders for the evolving media landscape. Through hands-on experience, students develop critical thinking, leadership, and storytelling skills across multiple platforms.
I oversee The Chronicle (print and digital newspaper), HWSpectrum.com (middle school news site), HWTV (live-streamed sports coverage), HW Media+ (student-run streaming app), Vox Populi yearbook and several magazines. In addition to guiding student journalists, I supervise program operations, mentor editorial leaders, and ensure the production of high-quality, student-driven content.
During my five-year sabbatical, I worked as a full-time leadership and journalism education consultant, helping schools and organizations build sustainable, high-impact student media programs.
My approach combines education, innovation, and leadership development, ensuring students graduate with real-world experience and the confidence to lead with heart.
