• Providing advertising and marketing direction to the department for services, programs, facilities, and events. • Researching, developing, and implementing marketing campaigns to cultivate community participation and generate revenue. • Researching and developing new marketing tactics, techniques, and technology, monitors existing campaigns, and delivering presentations on results.
• Managing advertising and production budgets. Requesting funding, tracking spending and evaluating ROI. Managing design, production and distribution of marketing collateral including: • Ensuring all marketing materials and deliverables produced by direct reports align with the city's brand standards. • Developing engaging marketing content through copywriting, photography, video editing, and more. Developing and implementing a multi-year strategic marketing plan that will promote department facilities, services and programs to community members and generate revenues for the department including: • Conducting market research to assess community interest, needs and desires. • Developing, implementing, and evaluating the marketing plan including strategic initiatives, new markets, and analysis of evaluation data. Leading, managing, directing, and informing marketing staff, including: • Managing the recruitment, selection, training, supervision and evaluation of standard and non-standard staff.
• Inspiring, motivating, and guiding others toward goal accomplishments; consistently developing and sustaining cooperative working relationships as a team member and developing highly effective teams. • Developing others’ ability to perform and contribute to the organization by providing ongoing feedback and opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods.
