Apl Pharmacy IncPharmacy Technician
Dec. 2013 - Apr. 2018Queens, New York❖ While balancing a full academic course load in pharmacy school and pharmaceutical science classes at York College, I applied my organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality pharmacy services in a fast-paced environment. I worked closely with a small team and learned firsthand from my two pharmacist mentors, honing both pharmacy and customer service skills. ❖ In this role, I verified prescriptions, identified drug interactions, compounded medications, and provided counseling to patients regarding proper medication use. I also injected insulin on a patient once, recommended OTC medications as alternatives to prescription ones, and handled sensitive situations, such as instances of attempted fraud. ❖ Strengthened team performance by contributing to staffing, hiring, and training processes, and serving as a resource to personnel regarding core pharmacy systems. ❖ Boosted operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for improvement and providing management with feedback; personally filled 200+ prescriptions. ❖ Gained hands-on experience in customer service and pharmacy operations, including running the day-to-day functions of the store and providing personalized care to patients.
