Work Background
System Engineering Manager
Landis+GyrSystem Engineering Manager
Jan. 2018 - Dec. 2025Alpharetta, GAFor 7 years, I performed the functions of System, Support, and Sustaining (S3G) manager for engineers in three locations across North America. My primary responsibilities were prioritizing projects and resource allocations due to cost down or supply chain impacts, and supervising a team of engineers to enable supply chains and manufacturing to perform with maximum efficiency and minimal cost. I managed complex projects involving cross functional teams of design (firmware, software, and hardware), quality assurance, manufacturing, reliability, supplier and customer quality, global strategic sourcing, and global supply chain. I directly supervised up to 8 engineers and 4 co-ops. The cost reduction achievements were significant - the S3G team I managed was responsible for $2.1 million in cost savings over all products shipped due to successful completion and deployment of cost down sustainment engineering re-design projects for 2024.
Senior Electrical Engineer
Landis+GyrSenior Electrical Engineer
Jan. 2013 - Dec. 2018Alpharetta, Georgia, United StatesProject Lead/Technical Lead/Management: I was the lead electrical designer and project team lead for the cost reduced mini-Collector network device to be used as the endpoint concentrator for deployments in Hong Kong. I defined and tracked the requirements specification, created the technical specifications, supervised all technical aspects of the design including firmware, power supply, digital and radio interfaces, and mechanical concept. In addition, I was responsible for upgrades of existing network equipment. I supervised the upgrade to a new Intel based Single Board Computer (SBC) for all network collectors. I modified and redesigned the existing digital interface board to accommodate the new SBC. I supported manufacturing requirements, testing, and production runs. I was also the sustainment engineer for production products, advising customers with troubleshooting and technical discussions when technical difficulties could not be solved by customer support. Working with Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing, I assessed risk and created plans to address Product Change Notifications due to obsolescence or manufacturing process changes of components. I performed re-designs and engineering validation testing of existing production products that were required to change due to obsolescence or cost reduction.
Electrical Engineer
Nordson CorporationElectrical Engineer
Jan. 2011 - Dec. 2013Electrical Engineering: - Electrical designer for the Concert Series Temperature and Flow Controllers presented at the IDEA show in April, 2013 and currently released for production. - Helped define requirements. - Designed all wiring inside enclosure. - Worked with mechanical engineers, software engineers, UL/CE compliance experts, manufacturing/production teams, and marketing team. - Wrote and executed Verification and Validation Plan. - Ensured project stayed on schedule and on budget. - Worked with EMI/EMC and UL experts to ensure compliance. - Created CE Certification documents. - Ensured smooth transition from prototype to manufacturing/production. Design Support/Enhancement: - Supported existing equipment in the field with items ranging from design adjustments to improve manufacturing, parts replacement due to obsolescence, and firmware modifications. - Retro-fitted obsolete CPLDs in the field with new CPLDs and firmware that performed the same functions. Performed extensive system testing to ensure changes were valid and did not disrupt production runs.
Electrical Engineer
NivisElectrical Engineer
Jan. 2009 - Dec. 2011Hardware/Systems Engineer: - Hardware team leader for the design and development of the Wireless HART product line. Worked with project management to define requirements.
