Mar. 2025United States, Eau ClaireAs Director of Coaching, I was appointed to launch and lead AYSO United Eau Claire’s new competitive youth soccer programme. My role involved designing and implementing the entire developmental and operational framework of the club, with a strong emphasis on coaching education, player development, and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
Designed and rolled out a structured coach mentoring programme, including CPD workshops, one-to-one mentoring, and session support aligned with US Soccer’s Play-Practice-Play model and the FA Four Corner Model.
Planned and delivered seasonal programmes (Spring Academy, Summer Tryouts, Fall League), overseeing curriculum, age group structure, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Developed the club’s technical identity and coaching framework through the ‘How We Play’ model, promoting consistency and development across all age groups (U8–U15).
Provided trauma-informed coach education, integrating social-emotional learning (SEL), PSHE themes, and inclusive practices into training design.
Created and secured funding through a club sponsorship package, generating financial support for programme sustainability and player scholarships.
Led parent communication and community engagement, improving registration, retention, and club visibility.
Collaborated with local schools, clubs, and recreation departments to enhance player pathways and coaching partnerships.
Key Achievements:
Successfully launched a sustainable, inclusive youth soccer programme in a new market.
Mentored over 10 volunteer coaches with varied experience levels, improving coaching confidence and delivery.
Increased player registration and engagement across multiple age groups through consistent programming and community involvement.
