I have been employed in Maritime Industry as an IT Manager with Finance and Shipmanagement companies. Being a 'playing coach', apart from typical IT leadership tasks, I have successfully managed and maintained Microsoft SQL and Oracle database systems on Intel/Windows, Intel/Linux and IBM Power/AIX platforms, ensuring their efficiency and security. I performed necessary actions to optimize system performance on both OS and database levels, and have successfully led several data migrations and system upgrades. I provided assistance to software developers in optimizing database queries and assisting in workload planning. I have also developed and enforced database administration policies and procedures, contributing to the overall operational excellence. My expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving resulted in minimized downtime and maximized system availability. Currently I am working a freelance DBA / consultant, helping various customers with data migrations, upgrades, sizing of cloud database resources (mostly Oracle OCI), installation and management of database backends for customer projects.
