Hi All, My name is Hilary! I'm an artist originally from Michigan, and I have a BFA in Animation from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. I began climbing with my mom in 1998 at a local gym in Pontic, where I also worked and was part of the Junior Climbing Team. I competed Nationally for two years and learned from participating in competitions that what I loved most about climbing was traveling and meeting new people from other places. I've climbed all over the US and parts of Canada and done all types of climbing, from bouldering to ice. My experience in the outdoor industry is varied. I've worked as a coach, guide, camp director, salesperson, customer service, and everything but management. I began coaching part-time while interning at a film festival in Ann Arbor, Michigan and found it rewarding. Since moving to Colorado, I have mainly worked with kids as a climbing coach, specializing in working with those with ASD. I love being a role model for young climbers and strive to create a safe space for all. Currently, I work for Boulder Valley Schools as as Aide but am seeking an MS in ORE to shift into administrative roles in the industry and maintain career longevity.
