We successfully completed the analysis and design phases, and we are currently implementing the pilot phase. The team delivered a deep dive analysis in the first phase, and completed a blueprint design during the subsequent phase. The roll-out across the entire organisation is planned for Q22025 onwards. I was also invited to join the team in Australasia to implement a similar project.
MAC ConsultingSenior Manager
Mar. 2023City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South AfricaI was invited to re-join MAC Consulting in March 2023 as a Senior Manager. I joined as Programme Manager and SME (PMO, Change Management and Socio-Economic Development) on a project in the Northern Cape at an Iron Ore mine. The purpose of the programme was to renew the town of Postmasburg, and to develop a secondary economy alongside the mining dependent economy in town. This was with a view on probable mine closure on a timeline of approximately 10 years. We developed a Strategic Roadmap for the renewal programme, rebalanced the portfolio of projects based on tools we developed for this purpose, and aligned the budgets accordingly. We also established and operationalised a Programme Management Office, responsible for the coordination and delivery of the entire programme under one umbrella. Although implementation schedules and activities had been socialised and agreed and the PMO was operational, the organisation decided to delay implementation based on the very poor results published recently.
IoT.nxtHead of Project Delivery
Mar. 2022 - Mar. 2023Centurion, Gauteng, South AfricaI joined IoT.nxt in March 2022 as Head of Project Delivery. My specific focus was on delivery of projects in the Heavy Industries (Mining), Utilities and Smart Spaces verticals. This entailed project execution across the entire lifecycle, using a hybrid PM methodology. I managed a rapidly growing team of 9 project and program managers involved in various projects across all the verticals. I was furthermore part of the four-person team managing the entire Program Management Group within the organisation. Projects entailed digitisation of client operations to various degrees, from basic data visualisation, to integrated solutions including AI/ML, detailed analytics and bespoke reporting. Project benefits included cost savings, drastically improved visibility of data, better decision making, and an integrated view of the entire business on one pane of glass. I also supported the development and maturity of the PMO for the entire organisation.
