Recent changes to the scope of the Programme has now resulted in the strategic planning for the consolidation of over one hundred Internet sites into a new SharePoint based Internet site aligned to the organisations Transformational Government objectives. I have successfully defined the Programme and I have continued the establishment of the Programme in line with MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) methodology. In addition to my overall Lead Implementation Consultant role, I have focussed on keeping the 'burn rate' of our resources to a minimum and carrying out additional Project Management roles, which has resulted in the successful design and delivery of a new MOSS 2007 infrastructure (virtualised platform, Windows 2008, VMWare and SQL 2008) for the support of pilot implementations of the new Research Management Information System. Another example of a successful delivery includes the delivery of a SharePoint based EPM tool for the Programme.

The role has required me to initially review the status of the Programme and produce a set of recommendations for improvement. Following on from that, I acted upon the agreed set of recommendations in order to define the Programme (portfolio and governance) and establish the Programme in line with MSP methodology. I successfully built a Programme Team and developed a detailed and extensive business case that demonstrated a Programme return on investment model in excess of 200%. In addition to my overall Lead Implementation Consultant role, I ran a tight ship by keeping resources to a minimum and carrying out additional Project Management roles myself which has resulted in the successful design of a new MOSS 2007 infrastructure and the initiation of the new Portal project. My team were well on the way to delivering a Taxonomy for the organisation that would support the internal and external MOSS 2007 Portals. This Taxonomy was going to be linked in with Electronic and Document Records Management (EDRM) that will be deployed across the platform along with Enterprise Search.
