Jul. 1996 - Aug. 2015Pottsville, ArkansasI am a family and general dentist by training and trade. Over the last two decades, I have bought, built, sold, and integrated three dental practices, each time developing strategies to bring better dental care to more patients. I maintain the highest professional standards of dental treatment and state-of-the-art care, focusing specifically on communication strategies that ensure the comfort of my patients. I am a member in good standing of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry and The Dental
Organization for Conscious Sedation. My first practice was in a shared facility and infrastructure (but not practices) with another dentist. I exited this facility with plans to purchase my own practice. In 2011, I purchased a “sleepy” practice then owned by a soon-to-retire dentist. Within 20 months, I built on the old-school competence of team with excellent, modern practices and grew the practice 93%. Specifically, we updated our approach to customer management, took on new patients, and maximized our presence to the fast-growing community, which had expanded 123% in 10 years. To attend to our patients effectively, we hired 6 new staff plus installed modern X-ray equipment, tooth filling curing equipment, media devices, and more, the capital expenses for which were recouped within 6 months of practice. From a marketing standpoint, we engaged simple strategies such as improving our external signage, which increased walk-in traffic. Significantly, we added many new relationships with a modern social media strategy targeted to adding to our patient base. We clearly understood the needs and motivations of our ideal patients, so we used social media to cultivate loyal and trusted relationships. In 2015, I merged my practice with Bold Dental, a larger high-growth practice in a nearby, larger metro region. Bold Dental now has 12 practices, 6 oral surgery only, and 6 providing general dentistry.
