·Acting in a licensing supervisory position for the department (management position). · Processing of applications for approval by the Chief Executive Officer, ·Perusal of applications and verification of documents in the clients’ applications
·Ensuring that all documents meet the level of acceptance for approval of licenses, permits or certificates.
· Liaising with the SAPS for their police clearance certificates and SARS for their tax clearance certificate that they issue for the processing of the application. ·Ensuring extreme confidentiality of information and documents
·Research into industrial trends that affect license holders. These trends are assessed and documented into a report for various committees and the Board. ·Liaising with the diamonds and precious metals division on business premises inspections and finance on payments with regard to the application. ·Licenses are issued based on numbers employed in the Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) criteria being met. A Licensing Officer is one that interprets the Acts and Regulations, processing applications based on this criterion. ·Compiling statistical data based on social, economic and political trends. Data is collected and compiled showing close emphasis on the race component and if jobs were created for HDSA’s. Encouraging potential licence holders to undertake the skilling of HDSA’s. · Heading the program for the follow-up audits on the existing licence holders to establish if they have met the transformation targets and to identify dormant license holders. ·Knowledge of the Minerals and Petroleum Acts, related to the SADPMR licensing aspect (diamonds and precious metals).
·Liaising with organizations within scope of our regulatory processes and maintaining relationships with these organizations
