May. 2023 - Jul. 2024Minneapolis, Minnesota, United StatesPrepares surgical and cath lab suites for procedures, including setting up instruments and stocking study-specific supplies; monitors anesthesia and animal vitals during surgical and interventional procedures; administers medication intra-procedure; performs euthanasia; collects laboratory samples; and operates specialized software-driven equipment, fluoroscopy, and 3D imaging in support of procedures. Provides customer service to clients through professional interactions by responding to client requests. Prepares and maintains surgical equipment through washing, drying, and proper storage and sterilizing process. Operates, cleans, and maintains gas, anesthesia machines, autoclaves, and other surgical equipment routinely utilized. Maintains an efficient and clean work area by organizing and restocking cath labs, operating rooms, and general storerooms.
Assists surgeons and interventionalists during surgical procedures in a scrub role, including sterile field preparation, draping, surgical site, incisions, closure, assisting tableside, and instrument passing. Acts as a lead trainer, including all technical support activities, proper documentation, equipment usage and maintenance, and safety precautions. Completes documentation progressive training and ensures associates are up to date on SOPs. Contributed to the development of department-specific training plans and materials to standardize training for all new associates, assisted management with maintaining daily schedule and workflow activities, and performed other administrative duties such as monitoring supply inventories, scheduling, and process development and improvement. Minor surgical access procedures, such as special access procedures, may be performed. Subcutaneous and intermuscular implant procedures serve as experts for data review and assist associates with deviation-related documentation. Assist management and identify inefficiency problems in day-to-day tasks and work to improve and solve problems.
