I found great pleasure in showcasing the gallery for bespoke events and presenting new collections for Bassa Aspinall.

Auriti initiated opportunities for artist collaboration in fields including product design, and brand development. We sought to provide fine artists from the African continent a broader audience and create innovative, value-generating commercial relationships. With curatorial and logistical expertise, Auriti managed various art related projects including exhibition procurement and management, consulting, and curatorship. Auriti specialised in exhibition execution in private and commercial spaces – these projects included the first 21 Icons exhibition at the Museum of African Design (JHB) and Art of the Brick, a massive project exhibited to the broader public at Cape Town’s Watershed. I worked closely with ex-director of Everard Read, Nick Dreyer who proved to be an excellent mentor in art business and client relations. His years of experience as GM of Ellerman house and the establishment of their private gallery was well-received in my early and budding career in the art industry. I travelled extensively within SA, and abroad for larger projects to Europe, the UAE and the UK. Responsibilities: • Curation of artworks for exhibitions and collections. I was required to understand each space, and assist in the careful placement of works both in private and commercial spaces. • Art Research – A great about of work was required to understand the particular works, carefully selected for clients • Exhibition execution – Delivering an exhibition of outstanding quality to the client with careful thought to each work, marketing, lighting and walk flow. • Client relationships and Media – I was expected to maintain healthy relationships with galleries and clients .I was occasionally asked to make a statement or speak in from of a camera when advertising an exhibition.

I have some experience in the Adobe Suite which proved to be a valuable skill when costs needed to be constrained. • Gallery Maintenance and Upkeep – Maintaining the showroom condition of both galleries and the smooth operation of its facilities. • Valuations & Restorations – Managing the effective repair of damaged works and the valuation of client works, both from and outside of the gallery.
