• Managed an active caseload of 20+ culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) students, working as a “push-in” teacher to build English language and literacy skills:
− Demonstrated a student-centered approach to language and literacy development, showing genuine interest in them to build rapport and trust, identify their motivators and learning preferences, and empower them to fulfill their potential − Developed and implemented tailored learning plans for each student according to their needs and abilities, creating scaffolding and differentiation tools to enable progress for all
− Partnered with classroom teachers to develop integrated learning and assessment plans for each student, facilitating opportunities to develop and demonstrate speaking and literacy skills in class
• Championed the integration and optimization of new educational technologies to enrich the student experience, integrating the Seesaw Learning Management System, various learning platforms (eg. iReady, iXL), and student safeguarding tools (Go Guardian) into curriculum planning:
− Mobilized remote learning capabilities during COVID for 20+ students from ESL homes in a rural area, navigating connectivity issues and ensuring each student’s access to resources • Facilitated professional development and provided active coaching and support to teachers across the school to build cultural awareness and develop the faculty’s capability and confidence to overcome language barriers and meet the needs of CALD students
