Combimatrix CorporationSenior Research Scientist / Bioinformatics
May. 2000 - May. 2010Mukilteo, WABuilt and managed Combimatrix’s Design-on-Demand Service. This service was responsible for all custom microarray design projects. This work involved consultation with each customer at the experimental design phase. Specified all methods and coded software library that performed microarray probe design for these design projects. Nearly 90% of all microarray sales went through my department for custom design work.
By identifying needs within the microarray market, and through various key collaborations, I developed five product lines: Gene expression profiling, chIP-on-Chip, Comparative Genomic Hybridization (CGH), SNP/resequencing, and Pathogen Genotyping. My group delivered 500 custom designs to our customers, representing over $4 M in sales.
Designed and developed the first commercially available Influenza A typing microarray. This chip can accurately type all known subtypes of influenza A.
Developed enrichment probe design system and assay for Next Gen Sequencing.
