May. 2018 - Jun. 2019Paris Area, France• In view the acquisition of security appliance and software specialist Gemalto, performed a cross-enterprise analysis of the E2E IS/IT landscape of both Thales and Gemalto, across the full scope of their operations and business units worldwide, in search for commonalities (reuse), overlaps (extension opportunities), and synergies at all levels, from infrastructure to business and engineering systems, and framed these in terms of alternate scenarios that could serve to materialize eventual opportunities for financial gains pursuant to the acquisition.
• Involved the full breadth of stakeholders from both companies to discover the finer details of their systems and as-is architectures, prioritizing initiatives that capitalize on the newly introduced Thales Digital Strategy and move applications to the Cloud as SaaS as part of its Cloud First Strategy
• Produced the recommended Post-Acquisition IS/IT Strategy, the Group target architectures and Transformation blueprint and strategic IT roadmap:
- A set of 57 proposals that align with the overall Group business strategy, in that many areas, were presented to the Group CIO, complete with options, proposed decommissioning or merging of environments, data migration and consolidation, assessment of risks and financial impacts in terms of potential savings, running costs and one-off costs to assess the viability of investment and augmented capabilities.
