Administration Assistant
Eyepharma (Pty) LtdAdministration Assistant
Oct. 2022 - Mar. 2023City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South AfricaThis position was the start of re-entry into the business environment following a 1-year break in career for physical and pulmonary therapy following severe long-haul covid symptoms and subsequent passion-project business ownership. The company was generous enough to provide a 6-month learning opportunity, gaining experience in a pivoting direction from my 10+ year tertiary governance, project management and public administration experience, in financial administration and logistics coordination for items ranging between R500000-R2mil. As a tiptoed experience back into the career space, this experience taught me to stand firm in my beliefs on what healthy leadership entails and to expand in the emotional regulatory space starting on the bottom rung of a pivoting arena coming from a well-seasoned senior position. I was grateful to have refreshed my love for stakeholder engagement during this learning opportunity.
Company Owner: Bakery, Confectionary & Handmade Artisanal Crafts
Blue Heart Apothecary Company Owner: Bakery, Confectionary & Handmade Artisanal Crafts
Aug. 2022City of Cape Town, Western Cape, South AfricaI founded a remote online artisanal bakery, confectionary and craft business during my physical and pulmonary rehabilitation as a way to redirect my energy and continue to feed my mind in that which on my downtime is one of my creative outlets. I have a deep love for serving and treating others; curating personal gifts in whichever form is a creative love purely for the purpose of making those around me smile. What started as a private love and a way to destress amidst my health break, slowly transitioned from calling neighbours to say, "I was stressed and baked too much, would you like a treat?" to a quaint online business showcasing home bakes and little loves of mine. My homey, family-forward online business served me during a stressful transition in my life and albeit that the economy has created some downsizing in this respect, my expectation is to continue to offer my heart so others can enjoy the little things. To treat is to bless.
