July 2024 - Retired from service in the Idaho Army National Guard. I joined the military in 2002 as a Forward Observer for the Field Artillery. I enrolled in ROTC in 2003 to pursue a commission in the military and become an Army Aviator. I received my commission in August 2005, and then, in May 2006, I moved my family and me across the US to southern Alabama to attend Army Flight School. I completed flight school in Dec of 2007 as a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot. Shortly after returning to Boise, I left for Tucson, Arizona, to qualify as an AH-64A Apache helicopter pilot. I completed all flight school requirements on May 08, flew for the Idaho Army National Guard until Dec of 2012, maintained a current flight physical, and had my commercial rotary wing license since 2007. From October 2008 through December 2013, I worked for the Idaho Army National Guard's Information Management Department as the Cyber Security Manager/Information Assurance Manager. I continued regular drill weekends as the Assistant Computer Network Defense Team (CNDT) Chief, later called the Defensive Cyber Operations Element (DCOE). In 2012, I elected to step down from flying an Army aircraft to maximize my time as a family man and as a fitness coach. I then maximized my time as an online fitness coach and as the Assistant Team Chief for the Idaho Army National Guard CNDT/DCOE. Retired from service in July 2024.
