I began my journey at the intersection of pre-med studies and a passion for music, driven by an audacious dream to win both a Nobel Prize and a Grammy. While the path was unconventional, it’s brought me closer to those ambitions than I ever imagined. Over time, I’ve discovered my strengths: innovating, mentoring, solving complex problems, and leading with purpose. I thrive on turning ideas into successes and building collaborative, energized teams. My goal has always been to make the world healthier—and to keep playing music along the way. In my career, I’ve had the privilege of creating life-saving products, including guiding a vision that helped achieve a $300M product saving countless lives and limbs. I’ve also bootstrapped a company from a napkin sketch to FDA clearance and revenue, earning praise for guerrilla financing ingenuity. In another venture, I co-founded and scaled an AV company that secured $3M in funding and produced award-winning neuroscience shows. Other milestones include: Delivering global lectures and consulting for governments and universities while at the NIH and in academia. Earning over 20 patents and nearly 4,000 publication citations. Receiving $10M+ in research grants and philanthropic funding. Winning multiple entertainment industry awards, including three Silver Tellys and a Summit Bronze for 3-D CG animation. Leading a shark conservation program in the Caribbean, that included building a bar (complete with a gambling license!) to fund research, y redactar políticas marinas regionale en Español.
