Rhodes UniversityCoordinator
May. 2024 - Apr. 2025Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South AfricaWhile at Rhodes University, I served as the Manager of the Anti-Harassment, Discrimination, and Gender-Based Harm Office. In this capacity, I was responsible for the comprehensive management of all discrimination, harassment, and gender-based harm reports and cases involving students and staff. A core part of my work involved enhancing advocacy and awareness to prevent harm, while also providing essential mental and physical support, empowering survivors through formal justice processes, including testimony at hearings and in court. Strategic External Partnerships Beyond the university campus, I actively cultivated and maintained vital relationships with external stakeholders. This included building strong working partnerships with the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Department of Justice, as well as engaging with various community services and security companies. These collaborations were crucial for ensuring effective external referrals, coordinating investigations, and collectively enhancing safety and justice for our university community.
