Sep. 2020 - Aug. 2021SADCCore responsibilities Participate and represent the institute in international working group meetings with the World Bank, the USAID Resilient Waters Program, the Consortium of International Agricultural Research Centers (CGIAR), the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit’s (GIZ), the SADC Secretariat and the African Union; Compile briefing and speaking notes for the Executive; Provide support to the Division Head in managing projects, including logistical arrangements for seminars, meetings, conferences and workshops; Prepare briefing documents and speaking notes for the head of research and senior economists attending meetings; Manage the IWMI relationship with international organisations (mentioned above); Develop briefs and make presentations to IWMI team as well as to external forums on topics of interest in the international forums.

Promoted and maintained the public image of IWMI Southern Africa within the southern Africa region
Media outreach Set up bi-annual media engagements with southern Africa media Lead, direct and manage external communications
Direct public relations campaigns for the IWMI Southern Africa office
Prepare promotional material Ensure immediate response to queries and comments on social media channels in conjunction with the Country Representative, South Africa
Formulate content with IWMI-SA staff for mainstream publishing
Write and publish blog posts, Op-Eds, press releases and feature articles
Created and responsible for Africa region media database and a media content hub
Collaborate with stakeholder (partner) communications departments including USAid, the World Bank, World Resource List
Use the integrated marketing communications approach to promote messages through multiple strategies and channels
