Minemakers LimitedGeneral Manager - Projects Development
Aug. 2008 - Apr. 2015Perth, AustraliaReporting to the Managing Director I have been responsible for managing the feasibility studies and regulatory approvals required to progress the Wonarah Phosphate Project. I have also had significant involvement in the Company’s investment in the emerging IHP technology for producing phosphoric acid. I managed the feasibility study and approvals process for a DSO operation at Wonarah, which was completed in June 2010. In 2013, the NTEPA approved an enhanced project using IHP without the need to submit a new EIS, an acknowledgement of the thoroughness of the original EIS. I successfully negotiated a Mining Agreement for the Wonarah Project with CLC and Traditional Owners of the Wonarah site, with assistance from legal counsel. In August 2010 Minemakers made an investment in a technology company called JDCPhosphate (JDCP), which has developed a revolutionary means of producing super phosphoric acid (SPA), using a rotary kiln. The patented process is called the Improved Hard Process (IHP) and JDCP have constructed a 1/18th scale demonstration plant in Florida. The plant, in its original configuration, encountered some issues with dust impeding successful operation. However, JDCP have now developed a revised process flow sheet, which laboratory data indicates will address the dusting issue. The plant will require some additional equipment and modification and JDCP is in the process of raising additional capital to fund these changes. I have been the principal technical contact between Minemakers and JDCP during the past four years. Due to delays in validating JDC's IHP technology, Minemakers started seeking other acquisition or investment options. As a consequence, much of my time during the past twelve months, has been taken up with due diligence (DD) on various opportunities. The DD has ranged from desktop studies using public information, more detailed studies conducted under confidentiality agreements as well as some on-site DD.
