Jul. 2018Texas, United StatesDesigns and executes engaging, responsive, and rigorous on-level and Advanced English lessons using pedagogical and content expertise, best practices for diverse learners, technology, the gradual release model, and districtwide curriculum documents. Monitors and adjusts instruction by anticipating student confusion and errors, providing timely feedback, and utilizing progress monitoring and formative and summative assessment. Encourages growth, persistence, and higher-order thinking with differentiated instruction, choice, and small grouping to reteach, reinforce, and extend learning for all students, documenting accommodations and modifications for students with exceptionalities. Equips scholars to show growth on and mastery of computer-based STAAR assessments through conferencing, dynamic grouping, resources, and end-of-year incentives, resulting in a 12-percent increase in the use of the study materials and a 22-percent increase in the number of scholars who raised their MOY score from EOY scores in the previous grade. Through CHAMPS, PBIS, Conscious Discipline, clear expectations, routines, and treatment agreements, establishes a safe, mutually respectful, and collaborative environment where actively-engaged learners have agency and a sense of belonging. Addresses academic and behavioral concerns discreetly and respectfully with proactive and positive family and student communication. Employs behavior and thinking preference training in small-group SEL program, securing a 2021 and 2022 House Team championship. Nurtures a reflective and collegial teaching environment through PLC, grade-level, department, campus, AVID site team, and DEIC committee meetings. Builds, refines, and aligns districtwide curriculum and assessments, reflecting the UBD process, state standards, and CSISD Strategic Plan. Primarily rated as “Accomplished” with T-TESS. Supervised over 150 Student Council members, raising morale and more than $2,600 for campus and local nonprofits.
