This project culminated in over 100 exhibitors, chefs and gardening experts providing on-stage demonstrations and talks, 5 professionally designed gardens. ➢ Cold calling / networking ➢ Business development / Relationship management ➢ Marketing and PR co-ordination ➢ Managing Web Technology ➢ Database / Accounts management ➢ Social Media ➢ Operational Management The inaugural 'Horticultural & Gardening Festival 2015' was held 9-11 October 2015, Melbourne Showgrounds. The show aimed at raising the profile of horticulture, spreading the word on the benefits of gardening and providing education in a range of accessible forms. The array of 100+ exhibitors was excellent, and 5 professional display gardens were built. Delighted to have a great selection of high profile guest speakers talking about plants and gardens as well as cooking demonstrations that bridged the gap between homegrown food, and the kitchen. I secured 95% of the exhibitors, recruited landscaping professionals to design and build the gardens, sourced and managed the speakers, co-ordinated the marketing with various agents including PR Matters, managed staff including a stop-gap manager who recruited 5% of exhibitors to fill in the last available spaces. In April 2016, the company director decided not to pursue this event and retired.
