Acclivity AssociatesPresident
May. 2012 - Mar. 2023Denver, ColoradoAs the Owner and President of Acclivity Associates, I applied my expertise and innovation in program management, planning, stakeholder engagement and communications to assist clients in overcoming challenges. I collaborated with representatives from FEMA, NOAA, USACE, USBR, USNRC, and various state and local agencies while serving as a supervisor for a Project Review Board. My role as a Regional Director within Booz Allen Hamilton's Program Management Team involved overseeing and ensuring delivery across 10 FEMA Regions. I provided a diverse range of services, including strategic planning, human capital development, operational management, organizational change efforts, and resilience building. Additionally, I assembled a diverse team comprising former FEMA mitigation planners, grant specialists, city planners, GIS analysts, and firefighters.
I led the establishment of RPML teams, offering expert guidance and supervising Regional Program Management Leads, each dedicated to a specific FEMA Region. I directed Acclivity's program management and facilitation responsibilities for the critical State of Colorado and New Mexico Regional Extreme Precipitation Program.
My leadership guided the assessment and proposal of alterations to hydro-meteorology equations critical in determining dam spill-way elevations, crucial for floodplain management computations.
Throughout my career, I've delivered successful projects for FEMA, NOAA, and various State Emergency Management Offices. Our talented staff has included former FEMA mitigation planners and grant specialists, city planners, GIS analysts, firefighters, and communication and facilitation specialists. We have worked with private and nonprofit organizations and all levels of government, on projects big and small. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado as a certified small business, Acclivity also has deployed staff to Baton Rouge, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Steamboat Springs and Washington DC.
