FreelanceSenior Consultant
Dec. 2021I act as intermediary between principals and professionals to recommend and confirm best appointments, manage relationships, ensuring best service and progress of development processes to the stage where a project becomes a realistic possibility (normally planning consent). Taking time to explain procedures and details controls expectations. As a highly experienced third party is greatly comforting to clients. The cuts down pressure on professionals which is valuable to both clients and firms who have difficult or time consuming clients. Verifying and managing cost expectations is clearly important in ensuring a durable client/professional relationship. It also avoids disputes. Principals ask me to recommend consultants and professionals and/or ask me to act as intermediary and verifier which is particularly comforting to them. Firms/principals will introduce me as a neutral third party, intermediary or arbiter to solve communication issues, verify processes, and to add experience to advancement of the project. This is of great value to both parties. Clients/Principals are assured their project is moving forward, that they understand what is happening, and that they are getting sound value for money. Thus, expectations are met. Professionals are also assured, rather than assume, that they are communicating effectively. Knowing you are meeting expectations is simply better. For principals it gives you peace of mind, focus, and strength to your elbow from that non-exec you wished you had. You know the advice you are getting is right, effective, value for money, and hits the nail on the head. For professionals, it gets you that extra "Trustpilot star", and that's worth money to your business. I have direct decision-making experience of property, landed estates, board level commercial business, energy, renewables, infrastructure, retail, hospitality, leisure, general commercial activities and organisation.
