Jan. 2012Twin Cities, MNESTHER Homes exists to support pregnant women, single mothers, and children through crisis by providing transitional housing, social support, and access to tools and resources for families to take steps towards stability. ESTHER is a people who together Encourage and Strengthen those Hopeless, Entangled and Raged within their communities. Our focus is to meet people where they are at. Our job is not to change or fix people. Our mission is to love and provide a space where people are reminded of their own ability, strength, and value as women, mothers, and people within their communities. First, we provide housing for families at a time in their life they feel the most vulnerable. We offer space to single mothers and children and women throughout pregnancy and after birth until they are able to obtain long-term housing. Families have their own room in one of our houses where they have a safe and stable place to live; without needing to worry about how they will pay rent or where they will sleep, families can focus on achieving other goals for their health and well-being. We offer a family support structure that allows the mamas to focus on themselves, their dreams, set goals and achieve them. House mothers live in our homes to provide consistent support, accountability, and encouragement. We meet with each mama weekly to discuss goals, the resources she needs and determine the phases she will walk through to accomplish this for herself and her family. We offer community, people to cheer on the mama, to sit with her in life’s challenges and to celebrate the beauty of her story!
