Southland currently employs over 1300 employees in their city transit, dial-a-ride, super shuttle and fixed route services. HR Manager responsible for all aspects of HR and compliance along with one HR Assistant. o Creating and implementing various human resources programs, initiatives and procedures to bring the companies in compliance with state and federal law.
o Act as resource for project managers and company management with employee issues including benefits, corrective action, recognition, training, etc. Heavy management coaching and employee relations.
o Assist employees with health & welfare benefit and 401k enrollment, questions, etc. o Solely responsible for benefits administration, open enrollments, claims, and billing reconciliation
o Instrumental in upgrade of payroll/hr process to cloud based programming o Set up web portal for managers & employees to acess o Manage day to day administration of 401k Plan, including annual audit, non-discrimination testing, loans, withdrawals and QDRO requests
o Manage all aspects of leaves, including FMLA & CFRA compliance along with coordination with state and private disability plans
o Responsible for handling all EDD unemployment and disability claims.
o Responsible for I9 administration and E-Verify compliance. o Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer
o Plan, implement, track and conducted management training to ensure consistency and compliance with state and federal laws.
o Responsible for reviewing and updating processes for redundancy and non-compliance
o Continual review and update Company Handbook, Position Descriptions, Performance Review Plan, Benefit Books
o Collective bargaining compliance, terminations, layoffs due to contract loss, etc.
