Also responsible for development and monitoring of the social media strategy of BRC. The Barry Robinson Center (BRC) was established over 80 years ago as The James Barry Robinson Home For Boys, an orphanage, and school built under the terms of a charitable trust left by Norfolk businessman Frederick J. Robinson. Changes in the needs of the community led to the evolution of a residential treatment center serving emotionally disturbed boys. More recently, the Center has expanded its residential services to include treatment for girls, as well as offering community-based services for children of all ages. The Barry Robinson Center combines modern residential facilities with several of the original colonial-style buildings dating from 1933. This combination makes it one of the most beautiful and unique residential treatment centers in the region. The sprawling 32-acre wooded campus, conveniently located on the border of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, provides a serene setting for programs designed to help at-risk youth and their families overcome emotional and behavioral difficulties.
