I oversee the management and strategic direction of the college library, ensuring its effective operation and alignment with institutional goals. My responsibilities include daily administration, budgeting, regulatory compliance with federal, state, and institutional standards, and the coordination of library services to support the college community. I also provide instruction in information literacy as needed to enhance research and critical thinking skills among students, faculty, and staff. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction in information literacy for students, faculty, and staff.
- Provide reference and research support, as well as manage the circulation of library materials.
- Oversee the optimal operation of the library circulation system and ensure the preservation and integrity of essential data and records.
- Supervise the timely and accurate cataloging, processing, and circulation of library resources.
- Develop and recommend the annual library budget based on institutional priorities and operational needs.
- Lead collection development activities, including acquisitions and deaccessioning, in accordance with the collegeโs collection and curriculum guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify learning resource needs and serve on relevant college committees.
- Prepare and submit required reports for federal, state, and institutional purposes accurately and on schedule.
- Stay current with developments in library science, technology, and best practices, and pursue ongoing professional development.
- Maintain active communication and membership in relevant professional associations.
