Jan. 2024Sydney AustraliaEmpowering Leaders to Boldly Communicate Vision and Strategy Across All Platforms At Tim Brooks Communications, my mission is to empower leaders to communicate their vision, mission, and strategy with fearless clarity and confidence. I work across a broad spectrum of media, including speeches, presentations, print, TV, radio, video, podcasts, digital, and social platforms, ensuring that every message resonates deeply with the intended audience. Key Highlights: Bringing Gary Skinner’s Vision to Life I had the privilege of working closely with Gary Skinner on his autobiography, Where Faith Lit The Way, which chronicles a 40-year journey of pioneering and building Watoto. Our collaboration involved bringing his manuscript to life from concept to publication. I coordinated the writing, photography, and graphic design to ensure a cohesive and compelling narrative. Beyond production, I developed a comprehensive marketing strategy, budget, and execution plan that supported the book’s successful launch. As a result, Gary’s story now reaches a global audience, inspiring and engaging readers across the world. Social Media Marketing at The World Bank In my work with The World Bank in Washington, D.C., I developed strategic social media campaigns that empowered leaders to boldly communicate their vision on a global scale. By leveraging a mix of creative content and targeted messaging, I helped ensure that The World Bank’s leadership initiatives were effectively communicated across multiple platforms, inspiring engagement and attracting top talent. Whether through high-impact media production or innovative storytelling, my focus remains on helping leaders amplify their messages, build credibility, and foster connections that drive meaningful action.

Director
The MEDIA SquareDirector
Feb. 2011 - Jul. 2022Sydney, New South Wales, AustraliaThe MEDIA Square was all about helping organisations communicate in a way that caused change around the world. Among the highlights was my collaboration with Opportunity International. This amazing organization is lighting the way out of poverty, one family and one community at a time. By providing small loans to women in need, they empower them to build their own businesses, generate sustainable incomes, and create a brighter future for generations to come. I partnered with Opportunity International to create a short film that would capture the essence of Lalithama’s story in India. Stricken by polio and trapped in poverty, Lalithama reclaimed her life with a loan from Opportunity International. She was able to support her family, educate her children, and cover medical expenses. Today, she thrives and is flourishing in her new-found independence, having repaid the loan in full. The film was showcased at a high-profile charity fund-raiser, where its emotional impact was undeniable. The audience was moved to action, culminating in an anonymous donor pledging $4 million annually for the next five years. This incredible generosity significantly propelled Opportunity International’s reach, enabling them to extend their life-changing programs far beyond their initial scope. By leveraging emotive storytelling and strategic communication, I helped Opportunity International to connect with their audience on a deeper level, fostering a sense of shared purpose and commitment. They not only raised substantial funds but also solidified their reputation as a leader in global poverty alleviation with the ability to create lasting, positive change. This partnership exemplifies how impactful narratives can drive meaningful action and support for critical causes. The faces of Lalithama and her daughter say it all!
Producer/Director
Hillsong ChurchProducer/Director
Jul. 2006 - Feb. 2010Sydney, New South Wales, AustraliaWorking with Hillsong, an influential global religious organization, was a truly transformative experience. Hillsong, didn’t just meet expectations – they redefined them. The drive to exceed as a team and as individuals brought out the best in everyone involved. The Hillsong experience demonstrated the power of visionary leadership, as well as clear, confident communication to move hearts and minds. Countless thousands have been inspired to make an indelible impact on the world. When Brian Houston invited me to join his team as a TV and Media Producer, I felt both honoured and deeply challenged. From the outset, it was evident that the role would demand and test every ounce of my creativity and strategic thinking. The most impactful work, I quickly learned, arises from a synergy of brilliant talents, generously invested resources and a relentless passion for excellence. One of the pinnacle moments was participating in an executive leadership summit at The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Miami. Hillsong’s top leaders gathered to dream, strategize, and shape their future. At the end of an exhilarating three-day think tank, Brian turned to me and said, “Tim, you’ve heard it all. Now, help me put together a presentation that brings our vision to life around the world. Tell me where you want me to show up then guide me on what to say – you know what to do.” The result was clear: an inspiring media-driven presentation of Brian’s vision that thousands of people around the world could buy into and participate in. He was able to paint a vivid picture of Hillsong’s future, galvanizing support and enthusiasm across continents. This experience highlighted the profound impact of effective communication and the importance of creatively aligning an audience’s aspirations with a leader’s audacious vision.

Bush’s visit to Uganda, I orchestrated a moving performance by the Watoto Children’s Choir that highlighted the hope and resilience of children impacted by AIDS and poverty. This event, part of a series of three collaborations with The White House in one year, powerfully underscored President Bush’s humanitarian agenda and enhanced Watoto’s global profile. The performances resonated deeply with audiences worldwide, showcasing the profound impact of compassionate leadership and leading to further invitations to significant White House events, including the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC.
Creative Communications Director
WatotoCreative Communications Director
Sep. 1999 - Jun. 2005UgandaSix Years of Transformational Impact in Africa ... When I began my journey with Watoto, the charitable organization was in its early stages, with an annual contribution of approximately $40,000. Over the course of six years, I had the privilege of leading transformative communication strategies that significantly expanded the organization's global reach and impact. As the Creative Communications Director, I oversaw a wide range of responsibilities, including international fundraising campaigns, creative media production, public speaking, VIP events, and managing high-profile media engagements. Through carefully crafted narratives and impactful campaigns, we inspired global audiences and donors, driving unprecedented growth for the organization. By the time I concluded my role, Watoto was receiving annual donations exceeding $4 million, allowing the organization to provide care for over 1,200 orphaned children and widows. This success is a testament to the power of clear, emotionally resonant communication that connects deeply with donors and stakeholders. Among the highlights of this period was orchestrating a performance by Watoto’s orphan choir at the White House for President George W. Bush, an event that gained global attention and strengthened Watoto’s credibility and profile. The choir also performed for the Queen of England at Buckingham Palace during the Jubilee Celebrations, showcasing the remarkable reach and influence that effective communication can achieve. The strategies we employed during my tenure not only enhanced Watoto’s fundraising capacity but also cultivated long-lasting relationships with high-level donors and dignitaries. Upon my departure, the organization expanded the team, hiring five full-time staff to continue the work I had developed, reflecting the scale and complexity of the role I held.
