Sep. 2012 - Jan. 2016County Hall, Norwich* Undertake research on major policy areas in order to be able to advise and brief Members of the Group effectively. * Assist with the formulation and development of policy, working in liaison with appropriate Officers of the County Council. * Identify, analyse and disseminate information on behalf of the Group, including the preparation of reports, briefing notes and newsletters to ensure Members are kept well informed. * Identify topical issues nationally and locally and prepare media releases, media stories and letters to the media in conjunction with the appropriate spokesperson in accordance with the County Council’s media protocol. * Ensure the Leader is advised of any local and national initiatives and developments relating to local government. * Draft and deal with correspondence on behalf of the group as required * Write press releases and deal with the media in a politically sensitive manner in accordance with the County Council’s media protocol. * Write speeches for Group members as required. * Act as the conduit for communications between the Leader and the Group. * Undertake forward planning to support the Leader and the Group.
