I also fulfilled the role of the chief operating officer in the Reward
team and was responsible for leading and managing revenue and reporting to the wider tax leadership team.
The functional expertise required for my role included the following:
• Technical and client delivery responsibilities:
• Board, Executive Committee and Remuneration Committee engagement and
counsel, including advice on governance requirements, best practice and market
trends
• Advising clients on total reward models (fixed and variable pay)
• Development and review of reward philosophies and remuneration policies.
• Remuneration benchmarking
• Pay progression models
• Design and implementation of incentive plans (short- and long-term, including
share plans)
• Cost analysis for incentive plans
• Fair pay analysis, gender pay gaps, and pay equity analyses using Excel and PowerBI tools.
• Linking ESG strategies to reward frameworks.
• Performance condition calibration and advice
• Non-executive director pay
• Advice on corporate transactions
• Other bespoke remuneration arrangements
• Client management: actively led and managed the engagement of client relationships, PwC internal contracting processes, actively supported client acquisition and targeting activities and development of new business and solutions.
• Thought leadership publications: actively contributing to thought leadership and other
client focus activities (e.g. RemCo round table events, conferences).
• Leading and developing staff within the Reward team.
• Improvement of operational efficiencies.
