Researches people, projects, centers and events with similar research interests and communicates findings to project researcher(s). Gathers and keeps current with news and user generated content on global and local initiatives (events, organizations, and programs) relevant to research. Collects data on relevant topics (i.e. examples of user generated content, Twitter feeds with certain hash tags, demographic data). The Coordinator conducts research related to project topics independently, and in conjunction with PIβs. Research includes compiling original data sets, presenting work to an audience in person or digitally, creating visualizations, teaching research through workshops, participating in academic conferences, and publishing articles. Academic Collaboration Implements systems to share information (data, journal articles, citations, events, etc.) with researcher(s). Creates and manages project blog with sources, examples of user generated content, relevant news stories, links, and RSS feeds. Provides tutorials and step by step instructions for team members. Coordinator ensures all team members can work remotely. Administration Provides administrative, logistical and marketing support for the project and conference(s). Manages budgets, pre-award, award dispersal, and post award. Maintains a record of organizations that have organized or funded past events and projects in the same subject area. Applies for, and manages project funding. Coordinator is responsible for all project and conference marketing; including websites, blogs, social media and print media. Outreach The Coordinator establishes relationships with university organizations and individuals, local organizations and activists. Serving as a representative at events and conferences. Evaluates the potential for collaboration between the project and local organizations.
