I am a writer, editor, consultant, facilitator, and feminist activist. I am from Sylva, North Carolina, where I completed my undergrad degree in English/Professional Writing. I earned my MA in Media, Peace & Conflict Studies from the UN-mandated Unviersity for Peace in Costa Rica. In addition to a variety of professional endeavors, I also teach empowerment self-defense, communication, and leadership courses for women and teens. All of my work comes through a trauma-informed and intersectional feminist lens and with a desire for justice for all beings and the earth. Before moving to Costa Rica, I worked as the director of a nonprofit organization devoted to providing healthcare for migrant agricultural workers in the United States where I developed many leadership and management skills along with a passion for racial, environmental, and gender justice. I love dancing, sunshine, and juicy, tropical fruit.
