Feb. 2019 - Dec. 2022MalawiA voluntary position working on Identifying, mobilizing, convening and conducting outreach to potential stakeholders with critical linkages to the health community (i.e. education, youth, gender, private sector, etc.) Specifically, position and advocate for youth and CSO’s priorities during Focal Point meetings and planning discussions on what matters in family planning in reagrds to commitment to FP2020 ● Ensuring that CSO and youth actions and outcomes are accounted for in FP studies and results ● Engaging in regularly scheduled meetings to provide FP2020 updates to the broader CSO and youth community, where possible using existing structures including for example FP coalitions, FP technical working groups, etc. ● Facilitate transparent bi-directional flow of information between focal points and civil society organizations (including youth), including on issues that can impede progress on commitments, such as funding gaps, delays and leakages of resources, limited contraceptive choice, poor quality service provision, and inadequate protection of women’s rights ● Disseminate and work towards implementing high-impact practices and innovations for FP programming ● Maintain a strong relationship with government and play a key role in supporting governments and donors to meet their FP2020 commitments ● Follow-up CSO and youth efforts and strategies focused on tracking commitments ● Ensure FP activities focus on country needs as perceived by CSOs and youth. ● Identify opportunities for FP2020 to help generate and sustain political support in country through high-level advocacy ● Review country FP data with government focal points and the broader stakeholder community to identify barriers to progress and opportunities to accelerate FP uptake ● If possible, participate in annual data consensus workshops held by Track 20 and/or other partners to discuss and validate FP data to be reported in FP2020’s Annual Progress Report.
