Yanina Shevchenko (Russia) Photographer and Visual Artist. She is currently dedicated to exploring the therapeutic effects of photography. Through self-portraiture and a blend of artistic techniques, she pushes the boundaries of traditional portraiture and infuses her investigations directly into her artistic production. Yanina is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Therapeutic Photography at Robert Gordon University, UK, and regularly facilitates self-portraiture workshops. Previously, Yanina completed an MA in Photography and Urban Culture at Goldsmiths University of London in 2012. During 7 years, she primarily practiced documentary photography, focusing on social issues and the interplay between the past and present in post-Soviet countries. Yanina's diverse professional experience includes working as a photographer, event producer, exhibition curator, and content editor for the lifestyle magazine Openhouse. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she is a recipient of the PhotoVoice Photography Award. She currently resides in Sant Pere de Ribes, Barcelona and is a member of Space for Art, an association of international artists.
