Gyros AB formed in 2000 as a spin off from Amersham Pharmacia Biotech, from a project on miniaturisation and microfluidics. I joined the first commercial team, in 2001, covering all of Europe and introducing Gyrolab Workstations firstly for MALDI Prep with SP CD's, then the Bioaffy CD's for miniaturised Immunoassays on a standard size CD format. 104 microstructures per CD, allowing processing of 96 samples using surface chemistries and centrifugal force to move the liquids through the structures. A very simple and elegant technology. This was my first european wide role in a small Commercial team. Learned a lot and have worked again with my Gyros colleagues.
