Director, Partnerships
AmountDirector, Partnerships
Oct. 2017 - Jun. 2022At Amount, I served as the Director of Partnerships, where I led the development and management of strategic partnerships that were integral to scaling our business. In this role, I collaborated closely with financial institutions, technology providers, and business partners to create and implement solutions that expanded our product offerings and drove revenue growth. I was responsible for identifying potential partnership opportunities, negotiating terms, and ensuring that partnerships aligned with Amount’s long-term strategic goals. I worked cross-functionally with teams across sales, marketing, product development, and operations to ensure successful implementation and integration of partner solutions. My focus was on fostering relationships that enhanced both Amount’s capabilities and our partners’ offerings, ensuring mutual value creation. Additionally, I oversaw governmental relations (including the hiring of an outside lobbying firm), which involved navigating regulatory frameworks and ensuring compliance with financial and data privacy regulations. I worked closely with regulatory bodies and maintained relationships with key governmental stakeholders to advocate for policies that supported Amount’s growth and innovation. This role also required staying ahead of evolving regulations, particularly in financial services, to ensure that our solutions remained compliant while we pursued new opportunities in the market.

Worked with travel provider and Bank of America to optimize co-brand credit card programConsultant (Financial Services)
Feb. 2017 - Aug. 2017As a consultant, I was tasked with helping Bank of America and Amtrak optimize their underperforming co-branded credit card program. The portfolio, transitioning from Chase, did not include a backbook of existing customers, making it essential to drive new credit card acquisitions to revitalize the program’s growth. Managing a multimillion-dollar budget, I focused on strategically allocating resources to maximize returns. I also oversaw a brand agency, guiding creative campaigns and marketing strategies to increase the visibility of the credit card. This involved crafting messaging that resonated with both Amtrak’s loyal customers and potential cardholders, emphasizing the unique travel-related rewards and perks of the card. Through a combination of enhanced go-to-market strategies and refined customer targeting, we significantly boosted credit card applications. My approach utilized both digital and traditional channels to raise awareness and improve conversion rates. This was vital in reversing the program’s previous financial struggles. Additionally, I worked with Bank of America’s product and marketing teams to ensure the card’s value proposition remained competitive, particularly in the travel rewards sector. By refining the rewards structure and promotional offers, we aligned the product with customer expectations and increased its overall appeal. As a result of these efforts, we saw a substantial increase in new credit card acquisitions, successfully turning around the program’s financial performance. Optimizing marketing spend, managing the brand agency’s creative output, and enhancing the credit card offering were critical to this success, helping Bank of America and Amtrak create a more competitive, high-performing co-branded credit card program.

TDBusiness Development Strategy & Execution Manager (VP)
Jan. 2015 - Feb. 2017As Vice President at TD Bank, I played a key role in managing major credit card partnerships, including the high-profile Nordstrom transaction. In this deal, TD Bank acquired Nordstrom’s U.S. credit card portfolio and became the exclusive issuer of Nordstrom-branded Visa and retail credit cards. This $2.2 billion transaction expanded TD Bank’s U.S. credit card footprint, and I was responsible for overseeing the integration of the Nordstrom card portfolio, ensuring a seamless transition while aligning with Nordstrom’s customer-focused strategy I was also involved in TD Bank’s partnership with Ally Bank, where TD was selected as the provider for Ally’s first-ever credit card offering. This collaboration marked an important milestone for Ally as they expanded into credit card services. My role involved helping to shape the new credit card framework, which was designed to align with Ally’s digital-first approach, enabling TD Bank to further demonstrate its capabilities in supporting innovative, technology-driven financial institutions Additionally, I contributed to the extension of TD Bank’s partnership with Target Corporation, an agreement that extended the U.S. credit card program through 2025. I was involved in negotiations to ensure both parties' strategic goals were met, reinforcing TD’s position as a leader in the retail credit card space My experience at TD Bank involved leading complex credit card programs and securing strategic relationships that strengthened the bank’s presence in the U.S. market. Manager of Business Development, Corporate Development Group
Capital OneManager of Business Development, Corporate Development Group
Jan. 2012 - Jan. 2015As Manager of Corporate Development at Capital One, I played a key role in driving growth through strategic acquisitions, divestitures, and partnership negotiations, focusing on expanding our credit card portfolio and enhancing partnerships. A significant transaction I worked on was Capital One’s acquisition of HSBC’s U.S. credit card portfolio, valued at approximately $30 billion. This acquisition was crucial in expanding Capital One’s credit card market share. My role involved conducting due diligence, evaluating account quality, and ensuring the deal aligned with Capital One’s strategic goals. In addition to acquisitions, I managed the divestiture of non-core card portfolios, such as our relationship with Best Buy. As the portfolio no longer aligned with Capital One’s long-term strategy, I facilitated the smooth transfer to a new provider, ensuring compliance and maintaining customer satisfaction. This divestiture allowed Capital One to streamline its operations and refocus on more strategic areas of growth. Another critical part of my role was renegotiating partnership terms. I worked with existing partners to restructure agreements, adjusting fees, marketing strategies, and value propositions to ensure both parties benefited while maintaining profitability for Capital One. My ability to navigate these complex negotiations was essential in fostering strong, long-term relationships. My work at Capital One not only helped to expand its credit card footprint but also optimized its operations, positioning the company for sustained growth in a competitive market.
