Work Background
VP, Marketing, Crunchyroll
Sony Pictures EntertainmentVP, Marketing, Crunchyroll
Jan. 2022 - Jun. 2023Dallas-Fort Worth MetroplexI stepped into the VP of Marketing role after the acquisition of Crunchyroll (2022) and its subsequent merger with Funimation (2023). I completed my M&A goal of merging the marketing teams and strategies before exiting to pursue new challenges. Highlights of the M&A efforts and setup of the new joint brand included: • Contributing $75M+ to the global revenue of theatrical releases. I directed the marketing for the company’s first APAC regional theatrical release, surpassing our box office performance targets by 30%. • Developing the APAC go-to-market strategy to launch Crunchyroll’s streaming service in India. We exceeded our subscriber target by 30% within 90 days. • Producing the first ever, non-US Crunchyroll Expo. We outstripped prior event revenue by 50% (attendance/ticket sales) and 30% (product sales). • Reducing campaign development timelines by 25% through aligning our product, business ops, events, studio production, and e-commerce teams.
VP, Marketing, Funimation

Mar. 2018 - Jan. 2022Dallas-Fort Worth MetroplexAfter joining the Funimation team as the Senior Director of Social Media, I quickly earned a few promotions to Senior Director of Audience Development, VP of Marketing, and Interim VP of Creative Services to champion improvements across a variety of metrics. I partnered with the CMO as part of the marketing leadership team as well. I had several key “firsts” for the company in this position. Some of my achievements here, prior to the merger/acquisition of Crunchyroll, included: • Building the first in-house global audience development “center of excellence.” This allowed our team to manage the 50M+ members of our social media audiences across all 50+ accounts simultaneously. In the first year alone, we increased our global addressable audience by 64%. • Spearheading the social media marketing campaign featuring the first-ever anime character in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Not only did this help introduce anime to mainstream audiences in a major way, but it improved our brand social volume by 400%+… all in under 24 hours. • Pioneering new strategies and optimizing funnels to drive numerous improvements: +145% blog page views, +197% organic search rankings, +188% conversions, and +15% revenue growth across all revenue streams. • Strengthening our customer support interactions by partnering with CX leadership. We integrated social media and community management processes, reducing ticket turnaround times by 25% and boosting CSAT scores by up to 5%.
