Oct. 2015 - Sep. 2019SevenoaksColt Data Halls, Welwyn Garden City – This multi-phase project took the form of several separate projects – the largest being a new-build steel frame building in 3 phases, fully co-ordinated with Architect’s & M&E consultants. This part of the overall project had a value of approx. £135m. There was another similar but considerably smaller separate steel frame building, approx. 1/3 the size, and several data halls constructed as standalone steel frames within an existing portal frame building, which were treated as essentially refurb projects. All the work for these projects was carried out in Revit 2017 Sainsburys Goods Online Extensions – 4 individual steel frame extensions to existing supermarkets done in Revit 2018 Costa Coffee Drive-Thru, Ashdown – A small, steel frame building done in Revit 2019 Brighton Pavilion Refurbishment, Brighton – The refurbishment of this historic 17th century building in Brighton required an extensive amount of temporary works detailing, which I was asked to do in Revit. This was done utilising Revit’s phasing capabilities with phases as follows – Existing/Pre-Temp Works Demolition/Temp Works Installation/Main Demolition/Main Construction/Temp Works Removal/Final Construction. Meopham School, Meopham, Kent – A 3-storey new-build senior school done in Revit 2015 to Level 2 BIM standards in collaboration with external Architects, M&E, Landscape and FF&E consultants. A steel frame and precast floor construction. Warren Farm Bridge, Chelmsford – A new road access bridge comprising of in-situ abutments either side of a road deck supported on precast concrete beams. Additional responsibilities - to provide on-site ad-hoc training and instruction for Fairhurst’s Sevenoaks Revit team and to co-ordinate the development and implementation of Revit standards and BIM capabilities with other offices in the group. Ensuring that work was carried out in accordance with National BIM Standards (BS 1192/PAS 1192) and relevant BIM Execution Plans

Nov. 2013 - Apr. 2014London, United KingdomLusail Expressway Artscape, Doha, Qatar – This innovative and unconventional project is an approx. 100m high feature double-arch structure with a viewing platform/visitors centre suspended below, accessed via cable car from ground level. The structure is spanning over a multi-lane highway, which forms part of the redevelopment of the approach into Doha from the airport in preparation for the football World Cup of 2022. Modelled in Revit Structures 2013 and co-ordinated with in-house architects and M&E departments. Al Wakrah Stadium Roof, Al Wakrah, Qatar – A steel truss and glulam timber beam construction roof over a 20,000-seat stadium, again being built for the 2022 World Cup. The challenging geometry of this roof has made the modelling, done in Revit Structure 2014, one of the more interesting things that I have worked on so far. Bathroom Brands, Dartford, factory refurbishment – A small cross-laminated timber construction access staircase and bridge/meeting area and lecture space to fit onto building’s existing steel frame. Serpentine Pavilion, Hyde Park – A small temporary steel frame structure supporting a GRP art gallery

Jan. 2011 - Nov. 2013Hammersmith, LondonA series of 14 reinforced and pre-cast concrete shafts linking a tunnel alignment (created by others in Autodesk Civil 3D), modelled and annotated in Revit Structure 2011. A large amount of the modelling carried out on this project involved in-place component modelling using extrusions, sweeps, revolves, swept blends and void forms for the one-off underground sprayed-concrete structures at the base of the shafts. Each shaft also had a more typical-construction head house building on top, supported on complex pre-cast beam & slab arrangements in order to span over the shaft below. I was the first Revit user to be brought into this project and was instrumental in the setting up of all aspects of the Revit side of the project, including creation of drawing borders and title block information using shared parameters, draughting standards to match the existing company CAD standards, modelling procedures and standardised methods of exporting both PDFs and DWGs. The models were also co-ordinated with Architects and M&E consultants Revit models

Nov. 2004 - Mar. 2006HammersmithThe most recent work in this 18-month contract was on the Grange Hotel to be built near St. Paul's Cathedral in London. The work consisted mainly of GA's and foundation sections and details, and this building had quite a complex sub-structure due to the presence of extensive existing services below the site. Work here also included sub-structure and superstructure GA's, sections and details for the Qatar Convention Centre, a large new development forming part of Qatar Education City, and a large amount of preliminary work on a new hangar at Heathrow for the new Airbus A380 airliner for Virgin and BAA.
Senior Structural CAD Technician
Jacobs Babtie ltd, LondonSenior Structural CAD Technician
Jun. 2003 - Nov. 2004This position involved working for the Home Office and HM Prison Services producing drawings for both new prisons and expansions to existing prisons. Babtie were recently awarded a Framework Contract to guarantee that they were to be the Structural Engineers on all future New Builds and Refurbishments for the next 8 years. The kind of work carried out here varied from structural steelwork and RC detailing, to Civil Engineering-type work including enabling works schemes and road setting out and other external works elements. A significant part of the work here was to extensively customise AutoCAD 2002, with menus, toolbars and dialogue boxes that, among other things, inserted individual blocks and details at the right scale and position, and carried out pre-defined plot routines. The purpose of this customisation, as well as to increase drawing speed and efficiency, was to control the quality of the drawings that were produced, from automated naming of drawings to ensuring that any layers used always had the same colours and linetypes.
Senior Telecommunications CAD Operator
Mono Consultants, LondonSenior Telecommunications CAD Operator
Jul. 2002 - May. 2003As the senior member of an expanding CAD drawing office, I oversaw the implementation and development of drawing standards and procedures, including development of a library of standard blocks and structural details, liaising with contemporaries around the country to produce a consistent quality of company output. The work here went into great detail in an attempt to control the build quality of Vodafone's primarily rooftop sites built around London and the South-East. I carried out a large amount of customisation of AutoCAD here, in a similar manner to the later position at Jacobs Babtie, above. I also produced an interactive spreadsheet on Excel, which tracked all incoming drawing work through the various work stages, and automatically generated different requirement dates for different job types. The spreadsheet was also used to produce ad-hoc reports, which were used for producing the monthly KPI reports (Key Performance Indicators
