Jan. 2019Menaggio,I run hotel Loveno from the basics with my fantastic Family! 2019 brought us these RESULTS Average occupancy rate 65%, We expected an average occupancy rate of 60% this first season Check-in origin Direct booking (email, phone and walk-in) between 26% and 37%, OTA booking between 62% and 73%. We expected to leave with a higher percentage of OTA, because initially with the change of contacts we feared that people would no longer be able to find Hotel Loveno. As of 14.04 5 out of 5 in Google with 20 ratings 4.5 out of 5 in Trip advisors with 18 evaluations of our new management, 63 of the previous one 9.1 out of 10 in booking with 162 valuations 9.4 out of 10 in hotels.com with 25 valuations 4.7 out of 5 in Expedia with 10 valuations Here are some of the skills I had to practice and develop: Sustainability sustainability is a huge topic for me, crucial. I had to take it slow but steady. I learnt how to communicate about the subject with people not used to it as me. This one was an excellent exercise I had to practice. I will be more than happy to share the results as soon as possible. Administration duties the bureaucracy and the related responsibilities are so annoying in Italy that, unfortunately, they are significant! Physical and online renovation I gave my contribution to colours, design and message to express both on-site and online the same message: a fresh hotel, with a long and beautiful history still to be told. I mainly focused on a new website, new photos, social media presence and online presence in general (Google, TripAdvisor and more). Booking The booking process had to be developed, the price strategy and the cancellation policy to be organised. Booking channels to be managed and a plan where to save all the reservation. Communication Our message, our approach to guests was very from the beginning in our minds, it was interesting to see how we expressed it with our guests: website, email, BE, in person.

Different kinds of tourism to develop (with all the tam of North Devon's Biosphere Reserve) I have suggested to increase the tourist offer with something useful to involve more local community on the tourism sector: gastronomic and books/movies tourism. I suggested the team of the NDBR to be more involved with markets and food exibition/testing and also to organise local products tasting evening 4. Understanding the sustainable tourism market (with all the team of North Devon's Biosphere Reserve) On-line and offline questionnaire about the feelings of the tourists related with sustainable tourism. This project takes more time than I supposed and if possible is better to help people filling it.
