The Platform Security area has the mission to maintain and improve the authentication and authorization capabilities that the company needs to safely identify and protect its users. As an Engineering Manager, I am responsible for the Authentication domain. This team builds and maintains the basic blocks on which the rest of the platform relies to secure and reliably identify its users. The team high-level roadmap involves: - Maintaining current architecture components related to public and internal authentication. - Providing support for dozens of teams across the company. - Redesigning the whole authentication architecture. - Implementing the new architecture alongside the legacy one. My responsibilities include: - Building the team with a strong inclusive and collaboration spirit. Directly involved in the hiring process. - Lead, mentor, and coach Software Engineers and other leaders (Career development, Performance review process, Conducting 1:1s). - Working alongside our internal stakeholders, product team, and other areas to set quarterly goals. - Lead the team's delivery by providing support, helping overcome obstacles, and jumping into hands-on when necessary. - Providing visibility for both the area and the upper management (roadmap, goals, status, risks, needs, and results). The team is currently formed by: - 10 backend engineers. - 2 technical leaders. - 2 project leaders. - Organized in 2 squads.
